Tatsusaburo

Tatsusaburo was an anthropomorphic bear kite-maker in Niigata Prefecture.

Character History

Kite-makers in Niigata Prefecture were known for their hexagonal kites, but Tatsusaburo's favourite kites were odako. The largest odako he had created, for the Tako-Kichi Matsuri was used by Miyamoto Usagi to escape a group of angry gamblers. Tatsusaburo discovered the crashed kite several months later, as he planned to make an ever bigger kite for the next festival.
